Terminal 2 or T2, which is situated at Sahar, serves both international and domestic flights. Both the terminals use the same airside facilities. It requires a 15-20 minutes drive to travel between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

  • Terminal 1 (T1) -Mumbai Airport Terminal 1 is also known as Santacruz airport and it handles low-cost domestic flights. The Terminal consists of 11 passenger boarding bridges. It originally had three sub terminals – terminals 1A, 1B and 1C.
    • Terminal 1A – Inaugurated in April 1992, this terminal initially exclusively served Air India. Subsequently, Kingfisher and GoAir airlines commenced operations from this terminal as well. However, in 2016, the terminal ceased operations as all the airlines gradually relocated to Terminal 1B and Terminal 2.
    • Terminal 1B – It is Mumbai Airport’s first passenger terminal, which was initially an integrated terminal . Currently Terminal 1 (previously Terminal 1B) is dedicated to domestic flights.
    • Terminal 1C – Terminal 1C was opened in April 2010 and had six passenger boarding bridges. It acted as a connecting terminal between Terminal 1A and Terminal 1B. The terminal building served as a boarding only facility.
  • Terminal 2 (T2) – Mumbai International Airport Terminal 2 is a X-shaped building with floor area of 450,000 square metres spread across four floors. Visa & Immigration

As per Indian regulations, travelers from specific countries have the option to obtain an e-tourist visa for a restricted duration, intended for purposes such as tourism, medical treatment, casual business, or visiting friends/relatives.
For more information on Visa, visit – https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html

Please check all details related to immigration requirements beforehand.

Due to a huge daily footfall, the standard time to clear immigration and customs at Mumbai Airport is around 45-60 minutes. The immigration queue goes longer specially during night time. Hence it is advisable for departing passengers to reach the airport early.

Upon arriving at the airport, follow the signage “Immigration|Baggage|Exit” to reach the immigration counters. You need to fill up an Arrival Card and submit it to the counter. In case you don’t have an address in India, you can fill your hotel’s name and location in place of Address in India section.
At immigration counter, you have to submit your passport, arrival card and ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) print-out from your visa confirmation email. After immigration, you can proceed towards Baggage Claim and Customs.
The baggage clearance at Mumbai Airport consists of two channels.

Green Channel

You can take this channel to exit if you have no dutiable goods to declare.

Red Channel

You can take this channel for custom clearance if you have dutiable goods to declare. You must give correct declaration of dutiable goods in order to avoid any penalty or fine.

**Passengers are advised to take the appropriate channel to exit the airport. Any wrongful or non-declaration may also lead to arrest & prosecution. Please check this link for other customs related information.
