Bangalore Airport Terminals

Bangalore International Airport (BLR) has two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1 takes care of domestic flights and Terminal 2 handles all the international operations along with a few domestic carriers operated by Air India, Vistara, AIX Connect and Star Air. There is a plan to bring up one more terminal – Terminal 3, that is expected to be completed by 2030.

• Passenger Terminal 2 – Terminal 2 or T2 is the second terminal of the airport which is crafted as an homage to Bangalore, often referred to as the “Garden City.” This newly opened terminal has fully automated entry, eco-friendly interiors covered with lots of plants and greenery, world class amenities, plush seating area with charging points, free lounges etc. The terminal manages all the international operations and oversees specific domestic flights operated by Air India, Vistara, AIX Connect, and Star Air. It houses 95 check-in counters, 17 security check lanes, 9 baggage claim belts, 34 conventional and 6 electronic immigration gates. 

• Cargo Terminal – Kempegowda Airport has three cargo terminals. One is operated by AISATS (Air India Singapore Airport Terminal Services) Ltd. The second terminal is operated by DHL and Blue Dart Aviation. The third cargo terminal is operated by Menzies Aviation Bobba (Bangalore) Pvt. Ltd, a joint venture between Menzies Aviation and Bobba Group (a sales agency for Lufthansa Cargo).

DigiYatra is a contactless and paperless flying experience where passengers need not carry any documents like boarding pass, ID Proofs. CTX Machines, akin to advanced scanners utilized in airports, utilize Computer Tomography X-ray technology to capture highly detailed images of the contents within your baggage.

AI ROBOT

Bengaluru International Airport has introduced ten AI-driven assistance robots to enhance the passenger experience. The Temi Robots aka Temi, called #BLRbot, are popular at the airport.

These robots offer a range of services, including providing information on flight status, assisting with passenger conveniences, offering directional guidance, and sharing retail and food & beverage information. Deployed to guide passengers and address basic queries, these robots mark the initial phase of an initiative that aims to increase their count and enhance functionality based on customer feedback. In collaboration with Artiligent Solutions Pvt. Ltd., experts in AI and Robotics, BLR Airport is developing these robots with customized passenger services software.

As per Indian regulations, travelers from specific countries have the option to obtain an e-tourist visa for a restricted duration, intended for purposes such as tourism, medical treatment, casual business, or visiting friends/relatives.

Due to a huge daily footfall, the standard time to clear immigration and customs at Bangalore Airport is around 45-60 minutes. The immigration queue goes longer specially during night time. Hence it is advisable for departing passengers to reach the airport early.

Upon arriving at the airport, follow the signage “Immigration” to reach the immigration counters. You need to fill up an Arrival Card and submit it to the counter. In case you don’t have an address in India, you can fill your hotel’s name and location in place of Address in India section.
At immigration counter, you have to submit your passport, arrival card and ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) print-out from your visa confirmation email. After immigration, you can proceed towards Baggage Claim and Customs.
The baggage clearance at Bangalore Airport consists of two channels.

Green Channel

You can take this channel to exit if you have no dutiable goods to declare.

You can take this channel for custom clearance if you have dutiable goods to declare. You must give correct declaration of dutiable goods in order to avoid any penalty or fine.
