New Delhi Airport Transport: Bus Service

Bus is one of the most common and cheapest modes of transport in New Delhi. Passengers in Delhi airport can opt for public or private bus services, both of which are readily available.

Delhi bus service is one of the largest CNG powered bus facilities in the world. These CNG buses contribute to controlling the pollution levels in the city.

Types of Bus Services in IGI Airport

1. DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) Bus

Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus services, run by Govt. of NCT of Delhi is one of the cheapest bus services in India.

Fuelled by CNG, these eco-friendly buses connect Delhi to many different destinations. The longest bus route of the DTC Outer Mudrika (OMS) crosses the whole of Delhi, covering 102 km of journey.

DTC Delhi Airport Bus service from New Delhi Airport to ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Noida Sec-62, Anand Vihar ISBT, Badarpur Border, Savda Ghavra J.J. Colony etc. are available.

DTC has also launched an international bus service from Delhi to Kathmandu and vice versa. Passengers have the facility to book their tickets in advance.

2. Private Bus Service

Private Volvo bus service is also available in IGI airport that goes to Amritsar, Karnal, Ambala, Rajpura, Ludhiana and Jalandhar.

Flyers need to reach the Public Transport Centre, Near Centaur Hotel at Terminal 3(T3) to get on the spot tickets and board their bus.

They can also book their bus tickets online. MakeMyTrip and redBus are amongst the many online sites that can be used to pre-book the trip.

3. Airport Shuttle Service

Flyers can use the DIAL inter terminal airport shuttle service to travel between terminals for free. Complimentary shuttles in New Delhi airport run every 20 minutes all throughout the day between  T1, T2, T3 & Aerocity metro station.

Travel Tips

It is advisable not to opt for bus service if carrying a lot of luggages. These buses usually take more travel time. Choose it if time is not a constraint.
