Parking Rules & Guidelines at the Airport

Arrival – Private cars and government vehicles can park for a 90-second duration free of charge. Minibuses, buses, heavy vehicles, yellow plate taxis, and two-wheelers are not permitted on the arrival ramp.

Departure – All cars and taxis are allowed for dropping off passengers and visitors, but no pick-ups are permitted from the departure area. Minibuses, buses, heavy vehicles, and two-wheelers are not allowed on the departure ramp.

VIP Parking – Reserved for central/state ministers, MPs, MLAs, high-ranking government officials, foreign official delegations, army/police officials, and VIP/VVIP members of the Protocol department.

Two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws are prohibited from accessing all ramps.

GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) has introduced the “City-Side Self Check-In” facility at the car parking area, providing unprecedented convenience for air travelers.

This innovative feature allows passengers to complete the check-in process, drop off their baggage, and obtain their boarding passes even before entering the terminal, streamlining the departure process significantly.

The self-check-in facility, located at the car parking level, offers a range of self-service amenities including check-in kiosks and self-baggage drop counters. Passengers can utilize this facility through a simple two-step process:

  • Begin by checking in at the kiosks to obtain boarding pass and bag tags.

  • Head to the self-baggage drop unit to place baggage on the conveyor belt.

  • At the self-bag drop, bags are processed and airlines receive confirmation, while passengers get acknowledgements.

The city-side check-in facility operates from six hours before the flight until one hour before departure, providing ample time for travelers to complete the process.

Additionally, passengers can use their Aadhar ID along with their boarding cards for added convenience and security at the entry gate. It’s important to note that this service is available for regular-sized baggage only.
